No! In some cases it DOES matter, tho in most others nobody gives a damn and people die lonely.

Yes Bernard, What brand of coffee do you recommend for some one who has no discernment of taste. I used to buy Gavalia, but stopped when I could no longer afford it. Now I really can't tell the difference from ordinary supermarket coffee. I prefer a mild coffee as opposed to something really strong, I don't mind reading the paper through a cup of coffee, in a glass cup.

Looks like we have something in common. My wife and I used to buy Gevalia until we could no longer afford it. As far as my taste buds remember, it is still the best coffee ever. Now we drink Starbucks crap, because we get it for free. Whole bean of course, then we run it through a burr brinder just before each brew, just like we did with the Gevalia, but there is no comparison. One day, if my ship comes in before it sinks, Gevalia it shall be again.

So I wonder how can one maintain a particular taste, with variables such as rainfall, soil nutrient depletion, nutrient supplement consistency, sunlight, etc. Of course I'm talking over the long haul as the earths biosphere changes. In other words, I hope Gevalia is what I thought it to be back then, when I can finally afford it again. Oh, sorry, it would seem I forgot aging taste buds in the equation.

In keeping with the topic, I guess Coffee doesn't taste very well when your dead, anyone know?

Then my wife must be beyond decayed, she absolutely loves the stuff!

That would be fun for the wife and I. At our age we already try and get back to the basics, you know, fiber, organic whole foods and such. That equipment looks like one could really experiment and possibly come up with the perfect roast, and flavor. I've also wanted to experiment with home brew, in terms of hops, and grapes or maybe blueberries! Ummmm, nothing better than homemade anything!

Actually I prefer stimulants over depressants, any day, as life is depressing enough already!
