Re: Meaning?
I understand having a personal purpose, but I don't understand why people think that the human race has an intended purpose, or that the universe has one. What's not to understand about it? :? If I could answer that, it would mean I did understand. If you think our existence has a purpose, explain ...

Re: Meaning?
I don't really understand it, either, that's why I'm asking the question. And I don't understand what difference God makes to whether we think there is any point to our existence. Even if after we died we went on to spend eternity up in the clouds with God, what would be the point of that? Are you ...

Re: Meaning?
If religion gives life 'meaning' then what is it? 'The meaning of life is religion' doesn't mean anything. 'How' is it the 'meaning of life'? See? You're just back to the original question. I've always thought it was a stupid question anyway-- one with no answer (probably because the question doesn...

Re: Reality is not Absolutely Independent
Another self-refuting attempt. Some oases we see turn out to be illusions/hallucinations when we get there, other oases turn out to be real when we get there. That's the difference between illusions and real things.

Re: Reality is not Absolutely Independent
The one yearning here for something out of psychological desperations is clearly the one who wants the world to be just an illusion, never real. So now we even have an illusion upon another finer illusion, allegedly. Illusion squared. VA used to be a rabid theist. Conjecture: the instant VA even jus...

Re: What could make morality objective?
We couldn't know that they are illusions if indirect realism wasn't the case (we would have no external, mind-independent reality to compare phenomena to), which again shows that transcendental idealism is bollocks.

I genuinely don't know what this is supposed to mean. What is reasonable can be expressed in language, and what is unreasonable can also be expressed in language.Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2024 7:05 pm Rationalism, and reason, are linguistic projects primarily, aren’t they?

Terms that are described using language, usually presented within an intelligible order, and expressing ideas or facts that pertain to that which the speaker is trying to communicate? Is the non-dual understanding here different? 😂 I suppose you think that was funny just now. Anywyay, no, it's just...

Re: TRUMP AHEAD?
Ugh sorry … these topics are too big to get into here. Nondualism is a whole different world, and yet it's the same world. Did you know that you probably also were a nondualist once, for a short time, in very early childhood, before it got overwritten.. I do not believe I have a problem imaging a n...

Re: What could make morality objective?
I have stated a '000' times, For there to be reality, there are three phases of the FSERC, 1. the emergence [ human-based ] of reality 2. the realization [ human based ] of reality 3. the human-based perception, cognition, know and describe reality Such a 3-step process looks suspiciously artificia...

Re: TRUMP AHEAD?
It's not a strategy or resolution. The study of science and psychology led me to the understanding that Western philosophy is simply fundamentally untenable due to its dualistic thinking. It just doesn't fit the known world. It's not capable of fitting it. I discovered nondual thinking before I eve...

Re: TRUMP AHEAD?
So imagine my surprise when, while searching for truth, I stumbled upon a philosophy that is (in my opinion) beyond both the ecstatic mysticisms and these theleological established ways of experiencing life. I've become something like an "Eastern nondualist mystic", went through the proce...
