Is it sin for a rape victim to abort the fetus?
Is it sin for a rape victim to abort the fetus?
[Reply tp a question by Smt. Priyanka Seethepalli] Swami replied: Rape is the sin of the rapist and not the sin of the raped lady. There is no need to have an abortion, provided the husband of the lady agrees. The unborn child in the womb of the woman is not a sinner. So, why should it be killed? If the lady does not want to raise the child herself, she can deliver it and give it for adoption in an orphanage run by a charitable institution (anātha āśrama).

What should be the punishment for the rapist?

From the Cambridge Dictionary:
Rape also means to damage or destroy something by using it in an unsuitable way:
Interesting. From this definition, we can surmise that using a philosophy forum in an unsuitable way is to rape the forum, if it damages or destroys the forum …
- Some folks say that virtual filibustering is not suitable to philosophy. This view might have put a cork in some of the long-winded philosophy idols, had they held that view.
- Some folks think that irrational spewing of hate is appropriate to philosophy. Apparently if enough folks do think that, then the Cambridge Dictionary will use that as an example, to wit: A philosopher spews venom over any disagreement in order to attack the messenger.
- Some folks define damaging and destroying a forum differently than other folks do.

God is omniscient, right?
Is it a sin if god sends a fetus to a woman he knows will abort it?

Re: Is it sin for a rape victim to abort the fetus?
According to Christian doctrine, yes it's a sin because of free will.
What's the answer according to your doctrine, and what is your doctrine?

God is a sinner.
My doctrine is the rejection of all doctrines.
Re: Is it sin for a rape victim to abort the fetus?
Evidently, rejection of all doctrines except the Doctrine of Projecting.Skepdick wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 12:29 pmSame as yours, evidently.

Cute evasion is for flirting.
Go flirt with someone else.
Your doctrine ended my participation.

Which part of "ALL" is confusing you?
In so far as I am "projecting" I bet you are going to jump straight into apologetics and special pleading as to why free will doesn't apply to God when he freely sends fetuses to parents who will abort them.
If you knew your child would be murdered if you sent them to school tomorrow - would you send him to school tomorrow?

God has given free will to all. He is not responsible for the direction you choose. God has only given the energy to you. It is like you have been given a horse, which you ride to any direction you want. If you go to forest you may get robbed off, if you go to your relatives house you will be given good reception and food. Direction is chosen by you, God is not responsible for your direction which you yourself have taken.
Re: Is it sin for a rape victim to abort the fetus?
God posesses free will too.
OK, but is God responsible for the direction God chooses?
Leave me out of this - I am not omniscient. If I knew my kid will become the next Hitler I'd fucking abort him even on his 18th birthday.dattaswami wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 1:15 pm God has only given the energy to you. And if humans can be held responsible for their free choices despite having only partial understanding of the consequences, then surely an omniscient free-willing God carries even more responsibility? At least I can plead ignoranc, appeal to my human imperfection and beg forgiveness. What's his fucking excuse?
