dosconfirmation bias
dosconfirmation bias
A person who is well interested in The Truth might still produce fallacies. For example, if a rigorous and valid experiment shows results they were not expecting, it will be more salient to discover why their previous prediction was wrong than to worry about confirmation bias. This weights the chance of replication differently. Perhaps, like many fallacies, it's a simple matter of obvious and inherent priorities, like many other "fallacies" commonly listed.
