Looks a well useful book and I may well buy it. Funnily enough, judging by the sales blurb, what I don't understand is that you appear to understand it as an attack upon Technology. To me, so far, he has obviously taken advantage of what I'd call Appropriate Technology(as there's a bloody LandRover with a WindTurbine on its roof on the book cover and he's managed to get a book published?)

The picture is misleading, he travels around and meets people with different approaches and looks at the issues.

a lot less hassle than going to meet them all yourself !

I suspect the answer is green tourism, to the countryside, and trying to be green at home with alternate power, changing habits etc.
