Beyong Churl Han

Post by KeithJamesD »

I recently discovered Han. Many of his ideas agree with my own. But I wonder if anyone else entertains the worry that his philosophy in its rejection of neo-liberalism and its embrace of ritual and symbol, sometimes teeters toward authoritarianism? Certainly, the positing of an authentic reality, one which cannot be expressed or understood, always reminds me of Heidegger and that slippery slope. I really like his reading of Hegel and Kant, but again, I sense troubling undertones. I am a newbie to his work, so any guidance here would be greatly appreciated. Has Zizek ever collided with Han?
