a thought experiment: what kind of Alien civilization would
it take to travel from there (wherever there is) to here?
In other words, what kind of state/society would be needed for
an Alien civilization to travel to our world?
we have those who promote the one, the individual thinking...
people like Socrates, Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Ipsen....
and we have those who promote collective thought/actions...
Marx would be a good example of that....and having watch the
space program for almost 60 years... I can conclude a couple of
things... first of all, space travel takes a lot of people, time,
money and effort to achieve space travel...it isn't an overnight,
spur of the moment activity...it takes years of planning to achieve
even one flight into space...the corralling of resources, the
millions of vexing problems with every step of the way....
space travel can't be done with anarchist and free thinkers... it takes
an entire village plus several to work out space travel...
and given this fact that it takes an immense amount of work and people
and money to make space travel work, it would seem to be true of
any alien civilization that went into space..
it takes a tremendous amount of collective work to make space travel
a reality.. and so, a alien civilization would not be like ours..
it would be far more collective in nature, it would be far more united
than ours would be, and it would be the entire world taking part in
any alien exploration such as thought of, if aliens were exploring
earth... you can't pull that off with limited or minimal amount of people or
effort...you would have to reach or pretty dam near reach unanimous
approval of the entire planet for aliens to reach earth from vast distances...
this cohesive unity of direction is totally unheard of on earth,
but the secret to the successful travel into deep space requires,
no demands, a near unity of everyone on earth because of the
logistical problems of space travel... it takes a long range vision
and unity of spirit to achieve just reaching the nearest planet,
little less reaching the far off stars....so, given what we think
we know, or not, that other planets that engage in space travel
are far more united in mind and spirit and action.....there are no
diverse and separate nations but there is one nation, one world,
one people for aliens to reach the planet earth in space travel...
no other way is possible given what we know today of how much
work and effort it takes for us to send one ship into space,
little less to another planet...and to another star? we are no where
near that and that is because we are still children and hold to our own
individual needs... whereas if we are to grow and become something
greater than ourselves, we must overcome our own personal needs
and no longer act as one... but we must become united
and together, if we are to reach the easy goal of reaching another
planet...and if we dream greater? than it will take the effort and
work of an entire planet to reach the goal of travel to another star....

I read somewhere that the 2 founders and enthusiasts of space exploration and rocket construction, Wernher von Braun and Sergei Pavlovich Korolev, could find funding for space exploration only by giving it military importance - if we don't hurry, then they will overtake us and be the first to have weapons in space . So much so that it is even suspected that these two conspirators played together, each representing their own camp, but working together on a common dream of space exploration and the stars.
Since there are hardly any significant changes here, if you want funding for a project, give it a military significance, because the financiers are not interested in star and space exploration, too distant perspectives to make a profit.
