What's your synopsis?
Re: The Greatest God Debate In History | Jordan Peterson vs Matt Dillahunty
It's a discussion about God, between an atheist and a man (Jordan Peterson) who seems to think we should still kind of believe in God even though he doesn't exist. It's quite interesting if you don't allow yourself to be distracted by Jordan Peterson's hands.

It's as though Dr J.P. is trying to fight off his invisible demons with those arm, leg and hand thrashing movements. Or maybe he's just trying to swat away an invisible metaphysical entity that seems to be drawn to him like a moth to a flame, every time he opens his mouth.

But then again, it's hard to get a real handle on what's going on inside someone's 'thought-stream', as no one has actually seen their own, let alone someone else's. Belief is a powerful magic though.Dontaskme wrote: βSun Dec 10, 2023 8:04 amIt's as though Dr J.P. is trying to fight off his invisible demons with those arm, leg and hand thrashing movements. Don't the posters need to watch the video before it can be discussed?
Re: The Greatest God Debate In History | Jordan Peterson vs Matt Dillahunty
There are people in the video discussing a philosophical topic as and through the social media platform that is Youtube. No one here on this particular internet social media platform is being forced to contribute a comment about the topic being discussed. The topic can be read, but no one is obliged or forced to read it, nor comment on it.
I do not know of any forum rule here that states 'videos' of people discussing philosophical topics should not be posted. So I am assuming it's ok to post videos of people discussing philosophical topics.
Seems odd to me that people seem to have plenty of the time to wade through reams and reams of philosophical threads on a forum, yet seem to have a problem when it comes to giving their time to watching other people discuss philosophical ideas via a video, so be it.

LuckyR can't be arsed watching videos.
So I'm rather perplexed as to why there is a response at all.
But then pedantic twattery is all par-for-the-course on this forum, so it seems, so be it.
Seems like the ''thought'' police are on the prowl again.
Re: The Greatest God Debate In History | Jordan Peterson vs Matt Dillahunty
May I ask where exactly do you get all you're personal debatable philosophical ideas from?
I'm assuming you learn what you know by reading, watching and gleaning from others ? or do you just simply make-up everything you think you know about philosophy, and that only you're ideas are original?
