Gingers have high physiological sensitivity, perhaps other kinds.

Being sensitive to change in a social or intellectual sense seems a natural correspondence, both of which are examples of intuition.

In the MBTI, iNtuition corresponds to Openness in the Big Five model, both of which correspond to high IQ.

So, my Bayesian prior is that gingers have higher than average intelligence and that has something to do with sensitivity, perhaps also related to ADD, constantly having your attention redirected. After all, attention is perspective and wisdom comes from perspective as knowledge comes from correlation.

In women, blondes are, against cliche, a bit smarter than other hair colors. But the difference is so small, in may not mean anything.
Redheads actually have a high threshold of pain.
Though now I find articles asserting the opposite, all citing research.
Redheaded children may well have a greater tendency to hyperactivity.

It's not clear this leads to higher IQs, but hey, toss in some research.

General intellecual or emotional sensitivity is not the same as sensitivity to LIGHT, which is what gingers have.

It's just more than just to light and various studies have shown the effect, such as that ginger women are much more likely to cancel dental appointments. Most dentists have no idea about this sensitivity that effects a good portion of their clientele.
