The title ALONE makes no fucking sense.

Well...it kind of does...kind of.

Stay with me here.

If "Democrat" means "Socialist," which clearly it does not, in all cases, then there is a good reason to think they hate America. It comes from a thing called "dialectical thinking," which Socialists get from Marx, who got it from Hegel. And the idea is simply this: all history is change. But it's not just change, like the Eastern traditions say, it's conflictual change between two things: a thesis and an antithesis. When these conflict, they produce a new thing called a "synthesis," which is how history progresses.

What this means is that for history to "progress," it must generate conflict. Everything that is status quo, every tradition, every institution, every habit, every moral value, every religion and ideology -- all of it must be "problematized" through dialectics, and then must be destroyed by the conflict between it and its antithesis. So then, the new thing will naturally and magically emerge from history, and the human race will "progress."

That's the idea they have. That's how they think it works.

Therefore, anything that is status quo must be treated as a problem, challenged, conflicted with, and then destroyed to make way for the next phase of "progressive" history.

America is an institution. It's an ideology. It's a part of the status quo. Therefore, America must be turned into a "problem," and then challenged, and then destroyed, so that the new thing (the perfect welfare state, the global Socialist order, utopia) can break out and be realized. That's what Socialism teaches its knowledgeable adherents to think is the case.

So Socialists hate America. They also hate Britain, France, Denmark, Brazil, Australia, Poland, Zambia...or any other country that is not already Socialist, or that wishes to retain itself as a nation distinct from the new global Socialist order. America's the worst, though, because it's (arguably) the most patriotic country, and the most influential, and the most self-idealizing. Thus it offers the most potent resistance to a global Socialism, the alternative vision of rugged individualism, free opportunity and republican-democratic governance. Or at least it used to. Nowadays, too many Americans themselves, under the auspices of Socialist promptings, are working hard on destroying it.

So Walker's not totally wrong. It depends on who the "Democrats" are that he means.
