another look at ethics/morals from a practical POV

Post by Peter Kropotkin »

we often hear or even say, the world is corrupt and as
the song goes, "the strong take the weak"
and I have heard this said before, that there is nothing to do
because "nothing can be done" the world is today, as it was yesterday,
and will be tomorrow...nothing can change the world....
a Beatle song in fact...

and yet, and yet, by a single action, we can change the world...
by acts of kindness, we are changing the world... my helping the little
old lady cross the street, basic boy scout 101, we are changing the world...
but Kropotkin, that change is so small as to be insignificant, but
the fact is, that any act of being moral or ethical does change the world....
and it doesn't matter how insignificant it might be, it is changing the world...
and if hundreds or thousands do small act of kindness, we are, once again,
changing the world... and if millions do the same, then we have really
change the world.. and Kropotkin, what about the 'strong who take the weak"..
and we are supposed to sit there and watch it happen... and therein lies
another problem with people inside of this world.... we are passive,
inactive, full of inertia... and yes, if we sit there and watch the
''strong take the weak" without any response, then we are just as guilty
as the strong... opposition to evil is required to overcome evil
opposition is required to make changes in the world... we must
commit to actions to change the world..... and if you sit there
and do nothing, you have no right to voice an opinion that
the world is evil and corrupt because you are doing nothing to
change it... but Kropotkin, we can't change the world...
and yes, yes you can... with every act of being moral, of being
ethical, you are changing the world... if you sit there and do nothing,
you cannot complain or whine about how the world is evil because
you have done nothing to make any changes to the world.....

with every act of kindness and yes, even walking an old lady
across the street, is an act of changing the world...but it
takes not just hundreds or thousands, but millions and millions....
and so, are you going to be one of the millions creating
an act of kindness or acting ethically? then you can bitch or whine
if the world hasn't change fast enough for you....
but bitching without any actions, you will only get
"shut the fuck up" from me.. if you want a better world,
you got to make that world better with your every action...
be the change you want to see happen...
