Sorry, I know this isn't about the magazine but I couldn't find anywhere else to post this.

Is there any chance of setting up the gallery from which to select one's avatar? I really struggled to make one myself. (eventually found out how to do it with Photoshop Elements - find suitable picture, then use File:Save for web - save as a GIF, you can play around with the size etc to get the requisite parameters)

What is the point of Avatars? Why don't people just pick one and stick with it?

They makes some people look like jerks! Is that the point of them?

Some people may want to express their personality in an artistic way. The real one or the one that they assume on a forum. It´s like a mask.
You can do it with the user´s name and also with an avatar.

An avatar may speak volumes.
