Knowledge is EVIL
Knowledge is EVIL
Having knowledge ..is suffering, and suffering is evil incarnate which is felt by every living sentient human being.
Humans are the only known custodians of knowledge brought into existence by the sense of being self-aware.
Humans are aware they know knowledge, they have knowledge of being aware of what they know.
Animals feel pain and discomfort, but it's unclear if they have a sense of suffering from what they are feeling. An animal can't tell itself it is suffering from it's pains and discomforts, whereas humans can. Therefore, knowledge is everything that is wrong and evil about life for the human being.

Your arguments reduces to a choice between Stoicism and Epicureanism

Choice is for the born, it's the desire to be born as and through the knowledge of yourself which is more desire.
If you had the choice to be born or not which choice would you choose?
Re: Knowledge is EVIL
If I had the choice I am already born.
The choice you present is a lie. The real choice is to remain born or to die.

Re: Knowledge is EVIL
Yes, that's right. Now you are born into knowledge.
Do you like being born?
Re: Knowledge is EVIL
Re: Knowledge is EVIL
Because by your own premise "choice is for the born".
If I could choose not to be born, I am already born. Because choice is for the born.
You can't choose not to be born.
You can choose to become dead.
You are welcome to change your premise to "choice is for the born AND unborn"

Re: Knowledge is EVIL
Have you heard about the birds and the bees?
One minute you were with daddy, next minute you were in mommy. 9 months later - you were born.
50 years later you regret not being given a choice in the matter on a philosophy forum.
If you insist on not-being born, then I suggest you invent time travel and stop your daddy from rogering your mommy.
Surely you have heard of temporal paradoxes.
Re: Knowledge is EVIL
I'm not talking about the birds and the bees. I'm talking about you, did you choose to be born?
You can't choose not to be born and yet you are born, so it wasn't your choice to be born. And yet choice is of the born that you didn't choose?
So you cannot choose to be born or not born...so who's choosing to be born?
Re: Knowledge is EVIL
It's just a paradox. A mere contradiction. You understand that, right?Dontaskme wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2019 1:00 pm I'm not talking about the birds and the bees. I'm talking about you, did you choose to be born?

Now that you are born, you can CHOOSE to ignore it.
You can CHOOSE to be ignore paradoxes and inconsistencies.
