first off the black guy seems racsit toward whites thinking Ralph is wet and not rythem (Ralphi s underratted as an actor IMO).

then Ralph show his chops and the old guy (seen him in other movies - like him - character actor) joins him on stage with his harmonic - so we ahve the melting pot - all men are the ame /brothers in spirit and fact

then alter we have Vie (I assume - heard the name only - don't know more) with his ego upstaging the stage with his guiter, and in fact spoiling the spirit of common bortherhood with his ego


then we have Vie dropping his guitar bacuse a sistake he made - so he chooses his fragel ego over the music and throws his guiter away. showing he places his ego over his music.

all others note this and then continue to play music, because music rules over ego!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The principle I see is a demonstration of the advantage to a solid grounding in the basics. This is why true academics who study original source material when possible, and other basic tools of their vocation/avocation, can take comfort in the scene.

The Ralph Macchio character is trained to play classical guitar. The old harmonica player was his guide to the blues, which included life-lessons in the journey which at the climax of the story included the life lesson that at the moment of truth little innocent-looking Ralph lost even the faith of his blues-guide, who turned away from Ralph’s mortal form, as God forsake Christ on the cross.

So Ralphie dug deep for his true refuge.
A large celebration ensued.
