But perhaps we can, without breaking either of these two rules, mention (not use) the name "book club" and then rely on other people's tacit, and arguably non-articulable, understanding of semantics to treat us as if we were talking about the book club. There are echoes here of the Analysis problem that Elizabeth Anscombe set in 1956:Emily wrote:The first rule of book club is you do not talk about book club.
