Nope. I'm arguing for the natural right of any,
every, person to own anything they can fairly transact for or create, including atom bombs.

I would
prefer nukes didn't exist. But they do.
Yes they do. And they are property that can be owned by anyone who has an inalienable right to own property, so say you.
You cannot deny your preference for every American to own a nuke in view of the circumstance that nukes do exist.

You're silly. Acknowledging a right to property, any property, is not synonymous with wanting folks to own a particular property.
Folks have the right to X is not the same as
folks ought to have X.

I only ask
why should someone, who's done no wrong with his property, be penalized becuz another does wrong with his property?
It isn’t a penalty. It’s a safety factor.

Yes, I know...

freedom, there is
security. There is no middle ground, no third choice. Pick one. Understand: there's a price, sumthin' you give up, no matter which you choose.

You may say that only wanting everyone to have the right to own any kind of property isn’t the same as saying that everyone should own any lethal kind of property and you’re right. Rather it is the same as permitting everyone to own lethal property, the same as allowing everyone to own lethal property. But what you allow you don’t reject. What you don’t speak against you encourage.

Henry feels that his (and everyone's) freedom to own guns is more important than protecting children from being massacred.

With nukes and other bombs, missiles and mines, I think we all can agree that the difference between those and privately owned guns is one of type, and not just one of degree.
I think you are going way too far in presupposing a difference.
Why can we trust 22 year old Ryan to operate a tank and fly military aircraft; but we can't do the same when he goes back home for his PT away from the military?
What changed about Ryan between Friday at the military base, and Saturday at home?

If you wanna rely on the police: do that.
I don't and won't.
I've relied on the Police all my life. I'm still alive so far and haven't been killed by an intruder yet. I suspect your reliance on guns has accomplished nothing different.

Permitting? Allowing?
No. it's
recognizing everyone has a right to property, even
lethal property.
But what you allow you don’t reject. What you don’t speak against you encourage.
I don't reject a natural right to property, even lethal property, no, I certainly don't. This, again, is not synonymous with sayin' anyone
ought to own lethal property.
You may say that only wanting everyone to have the right to own any kind of property isn’t the same as saying that everyone should own any lethal kind of property and you’re right.
Wanting? No, I never said I wanted everyone to have the right to property. We, each and every one of us, have that right. I can recognize and respect it, or, I can ignore and violate it.

none of the proposed "controls" ever deliver on their promises
But is
that really the measure we wanna use, how
well control works?
Does successful control of those who do, or would do, wrong justify controllin'' all those who don't, or wouldn't, do wrong?
Yes.

Wow. Just because you don't know someone you think that they are basically worthless. No brotherhood of man on your wishlist then.
