Brains in a Vat

Is the mind the same as the body? What is consciousness? Can machines have it?

Yes, we are trapped in our separate universes so-called Vats.
Is there any escape from this trap, do you know?
There is no way to escape while you are trapped in your physical body since the size of the trap is infinite.
Why do you say and claim 'the trap' is infinite?

What trap are you even referring to, exactly?

And, why are human beings, like "yourself", supposedly, 'trapped', then there are some, like 'me', who is not trapped, at all?

Find out how the Mind and the brain actually work, then become 'untrapped' is an extremely very simple and easy process, indeed.
bahman wrote: Thu Aug 08, 2024 3:40 pm By meditation, you can however observe this vast universe.
And, what even is 'meditation', to you, exactly? And, how does one do or achieve 'meditation' where they can, supposedly, observe this vast Universe?

Also, if you can observe this vast Universe, then why, exactly, are you 'trapped'?
bahman wrote: Thu Aug 08, 2024 3:40 pm LSD also does the job.
How do you know?

Have you done or used this, and, if so, then what happened, exactly?

I don't think so. There is a life after death. Your mind simply is a changeless substance therefore it is immortal.
Are you even aware of just how absolutely contradictory what you just said and claimed here is, exactly?

I ask, already knowing the answer by the way.

Now, if some so-called 'your mind' is immortal, then where, exactly, the 'death' part, where, supposedly, 'life' comes 'after'?

Yes.
'you' individual human beings are not 'trapped alive' forever, but 'I' remain forever alive, HERE-NOW.

However, 'I' am most certainly 'not trapped' at all, nor ever.

But, then again, 'you' will have to first learn who and what 'I' am, exactly, to understand and know what is being meant and explained here, exactly.

Yes.
There can only be the death of the ego, not you.
Life after the death of the illusory but seemingly real ego, equals eternal life.

Life after death, is the entrance into eternal life, life after life after life after life.
Previously you have said and claimed that 'there is only life after life, infinitely for eternity', but 'now' here you say and claim that 'Life after death, is ...'.

There is no 'death' from which then there is 'life after' to some so-called 'entrance' into 'eternal Life' because there is only 'eternal Life'.

When a human body so-call 'begins', then it could be said and argued that 'that body' has 'entered' into the One and only 'eternal Life'. However, when a human body so-call 'ends' or 'dies', then it could not be said and argued, logically, that 'that body' 'enters' into the One and only 'eternal Life'.

And, when 'you', a 'person', enters the 'eternal Life', exactly, is even different again.
Fairy wrote: Thu Aug 08, 2024 7:26 pm You have never known death.
Maybe not.

But, 'you' certainly can know a 'concept' 'of death'.

Are you talking about ego death?

Yes, if you are trapped in the Cycle of Karma.

I know what death is.
What is 'death', to you, exactly, "bahman"?

Yes.
Life after death to me, implies we live, then die, only to live again. That cycle to me, implies we experience life after life after life. The death part must be some form of transitioning stage where form changes from one state to another, from say, material to immaterial to material again, infinite times over and over. So death can be likened to a state of unconscious “sleep” until we awaken to the awakened state of conscious life again.

I'm deeply resonant with the ideas Hinduism and Buddhism bring to the table. But, I wouldn't exactly label or roleplay myself as being such. If I was to roleplay myself, I would comfortably identify with being a 'Curiousest' if anything.

Yes, so do I

I too know what death is, it's not a state I can experience directly and be aware of it, but I can know it in a conceptual sense.

ask yourself this, do you see the world with your eyes?
