Does love need deeds and works to be expressed?
Yes. All actions could be said to need something in order to identify them by - to help us understand that which motivates said actions. Love would be no different.
Have you seen God express his love for us lately?
IF "God" is defined as "love which is expressed through human beings" THEN yes.
If god is love, just an emotion, why call it god?
Is love to be defined as 'just an emotion"?
Do you give god all the credit for the love you give and get to god or to the individual?
If I defined 'god' as 'love', then yes.

Yes - [and perhaps not even just the pink ones] but only on a planet which humans have yet to actually discover...unless of course we are actually completely the only sentient species which exists in the whole darn universe...

You do not seem that simple.

Show the definition of love that you are using that says a genocidal mass murderer knows how to love.

Do you see a lot of love in Stalin and Hitler as well?

Well I did say "IF"
Show the definition of love that you are using that says a genocidal mass murderer knows how to love.

Do you see a lot of love in Stalin and Hitler as well?
IF I define such actions as actions of 'love', then I probably would do, yes.

But do I actually?

I assume this is coming from the argument that the old testament idea of god is often reported doing the deplorable?

My own focus is on the idea the we all exist in some kind of holographic simulated reality experience so that naturally implies at least one creator [probably more]

So in that, if I disregard the claims of storytellers who managed to have their stories of their ideas of 'the creator' published in the Bible, am I still stuck with facing the idea that 'the creator(s)' are evil?

I do not think so. Would you think so?

Basically my question better framed would be along the lines of...

"IF this is a creation we are experiencing THEN in examining the nature of the universe [specifically our 'home world'] do we recognize evil therein and from that can we ascertain that the creator(s) are therefore 'evil'?"

Does this question make sense to you? If so, how would you answer it?

We live in a dualistic universe. Yin and Yang, or two sides to everything.

If you see only one good or evil side to either god or the Earth, you are not looking the right way.

Reality is mostly good.

All human to human evil pops out when we compete, as that is when a loser is created who would think evil has befallen him.

Your question is too long to fit allowed space.

The answer would be, yes. Our creator, nature, put both a good and evil side in us and we have to use both.

Have you heard Christians sing of sin being a happy fault and a necessity to god's plan?

I have, and nature would agree while ignoring the god reference.

DL

In other words you have no way to answer yes or no for this question or the one contained in the thread heading.
You might as well ask why god has to be such a bastard.

Exactly. No one can acutely truthfully answer questions which are based upon assumptions or loosely defined concepts.

Comically, 'god' is a natural bastard because she did not have parents...
