What exactly counts as the "North West"?
and where does Sheffield lie in all this?
I'm from Sheffield but when Yorkshire doesn't come up as an option I'm never quite sure...
A thought popped into my head about the Yorkshire Circle but it may prove too exclusive,
How about about the "Yorkshire Circle" but everyone outside London is invited?? (They seem to have their own thing going on down there)

It's a good idea, except there aren't enough people in Yorkshire interested in philosophy to make a circle.

Thats why its open to everyone outside London.
It may start as as a very small circle (with me n thee, arms strecthed out really wide) but I'm sure it will grow.

Why impose any restriction? Make it open to everyone, and let the practicalities of travel determine who comes along. But I can see the merit in giving the group a geographically distinctive name, just so that people know immediately roughly where meetings will be held.

Doesn't sound like a bad idea.

I used to live in Leeds, Liverpool currently.

I suspect that Yorkshire may have more philosophically inclined people than some seem to think.

Well, it has you and IWonderer so that's at least two. I don't know if I count any more.

I'm not in Yorkshire currently.

I see no philosophers from India on the boards, so I suppose there are none?

Where is Umbridge, exactly? North or south?

Umbridge must be in the North. I reckon its possibly one of those places that are borderline North/South so any time we get pissed off we invade it again, hence Take Umbridge,,
As this seems to be one of the more popular threads nearby I'd say that this is the best place to start n continue actual discussions. If you guys post what you've been talking about on here also then it'll make it easier for me to keep up with what you are talking/thinkin about.
And The Yorkshire Circle expands...

Fair point.
I suppose that location is pretty much irrelevant and the whole concept of online forums is to integrate as many as possible rather than exclude based on someones whereabouts.
