Gary Childress wrote:So we often seem to talk about "feminist" philosophers as though there is something unique about women philosophizing about their place in the world. We don't seem to refer to many male philosophers as "malist" philosophers for philosophizing about their place in the world. We just call them "philosophers". Is "feminist" really a fair way of referring to female philosophers?

Thoughts?
If female philosophers philosophize about their place in the world then yes.
But it they philosophize about something else then no.

One restriction: if they philosophize about women´s place in the world being in the home kitchen then they are not feminist philosophers either. :D

There may be some malist philosophers somewhere already. They should come forward and offer their views for examination.

You Gary sound a little bit like a malist philosopher to me. :D

If you have something substantial please ...

Yes, I would be sooooooooooo glad if he came back.

There was some sense in what he was saying. And how nicely he formulated his ideas, a real gentleman.

Do you happen to live not far from Chichester, Arising ? He used to receive a local policeman for tea. He might be glad if someone called.

I liked Duncan too...(online that is), but would never get too close to him, as I think he is a dangerous person for a woman to befriend.
