Aren't we dead?

I mean, really...

“Neither from itself nor from another,
Nor from both,
Nor without a cause,
Does anything whatever, anywhere arise.”
~~~ Nagarjuna ~~~
We perceive things as happening but, they already have.
We understand that in the past people are dead. We are in the past.
Before we perceive our reality,
we look back through the filter that is us,
which is dead.
Actually no, what you tend to do is search the web for others thoughts and images and then cut-paste them in here in large formats.
I look back and observe what I have written.
Then I look back and observe what I have written.
Then I copy & paste.
Then I look back and observe what I have copied & pasted.
Then I wait for a response.
Then I look back and wait for a response.
Rinse & repeat.
It's almost like you re trying to intentionally delude yourself. I am alive, according to a dictionary definition, according to my doctor, according to my hamster. You can call a spoon a fork all you want, but it's still a spoon.
Lengthy death row, anyway. Or a long wait if you're fortunate.
But if you were dead, or better yet dying. Say you are reliving your life in the cliche "life flashing before my eyes," type of moment. Would you be able to differentiate living the life you are reliving?
A student told me, and by no means have I ever been able to find a source to support the claim, that when you die your brain lives for 7 minutes and replays your life. Whether or not if this is true, it poses an interesting thought. If this were true and you relive your entire life, we could be nothing more than a shade.
