the reason i liked the peter garrett version is that something different was done with the 'zoological fantasy'. this version wasn't done for entertainment. its hard to explain here, and there are no videos to share.

but here are a just a few words from some of the talking parts:

'were gathered here together
where trees once used to grow

and animals of many kinds
have sat in every row where you are sitting now

as your grateful hosts we ask you to sit gently
cuz your sitting on their ghosts

....

let us consider and reflect, since the time of San Saiens, the effect upon the creatures and their land,
triumphant humanity, having grown so grand, never so powerful, so free, nature and its beloved souls are no longer what they used to be

surrounded, outnumbered
and bewildered by the crimes, that make the animals, the persecuted saints and outcasts of our time

yet, in their grace, their still here, with sacred things to teach us, they can reach us in our inner space, if we will let them

we must not forget them, like this music, to our ear,
they are still here'

I sense a runner in the garden
Although my judgements known to fail
Once built a steamboat in a meadow
Cos I'd forgotten how to sail

I know the runner's going to tell you
There ain't no cowboy in my hair
So now he's buried by the daisies
So I could stay the tallest man in your eyes, babe

I sense a spy up in the chimney
From all the evidence I've burned
I guess he'll read it in the smoke now
And soon to ashes I'll return

I know the spy is going to tell you
It's not my flag up in the pole
So now he's buried by the lilies
So I could stay forever more in your eyes, babe

I sense a leak inside my phone now
From all the lies I have told
I know he has your private number
And soon he'll make that vicious call

I know the leak is going to tell you
There ain't no puppy in your leash
So now he'll fertilize the roses
So I could stay the king you see
In your eyes, babe

So now we're dancing through the garden
And what a garden I have made
And now that death will grow my jasmine
I find it soothing I'm afraid

Now there is no need for suspicion
There ain't no frog kissing your hand
I won't be lying when I tell you
That I'm a gardner I'm a man
In your eyes babe

I like the song I posted above because it reminds me of wikileaks. It's as if it is a song from the seducer which is America, to it's people it calls 'babe'...

I eerily fell in love with this song for that reason...and because the guys voice reminds me a little bit of bob dylan...raspy and weird in a interesting way.

Haven't posted on here for a while; still think it should be in 'The Lounge', but what the heck.

This kind of tranquil spot is not for everybody. It worked for me today - any other time it might just irritate the life outta me :-)

Hi Mhoraine,

Now THAT is a song. I liked it...but to my untrained ears they sound sort of the same. I didn't know he wrote a book...I am so out of the loop...lol.
