Game Theory on Reality & Life

What Game Theory Reveals About Life, The Universe, and Everything

Theme: What are the most optimal strategies in life interactions within reality with others.

Based on the most famous problem in Game Theory, the Prisoner’s Dilemma,

Axelrod [inventor of the illustrated game] found that all the best performing strategies, [10:08] - including Tit for Tat, shared four qualities.
  • First, they were all nice,
Second important quality was being forgiving.
    Third is being retaliatory, 14:38
Fourth quality that Axelrod identified is being clear
What I notice with many [not all] posters in this forum is they are fundamentally not-nice, thus put themselves in a lose-lose position, e.g. are people like FSP, Atla, IWP who initiate attack posts for mere sake of attacking posts [mine] and those they disagree with aggressively.

On the other hand I would prefer to be as nice as the other side is nice, but when they turned 'not-nice' I will not hesitate to retaliate.

I admit I am not very forgiving especially those who are aggressive in their attacks and in being 'not-nice'.

The video is very interesting and worth listening.

Inter-dependence is the key here.
All life is dependent on other life - the source of "primordial sin'.
Slave/Master dynamics....predator/prey codependence.

It also explains 'karma'.
The more you cause 'negative' reactions in others, the more you increase the probability of suffering a negative consequence.

Online we feel protected from this by our anonymity.
We vent, saying all the shit he dare not in real life.
