heaven on earth...

Post by Peter Kropotkin »

which is what has been promised to those in terms of ideologies...
Marx makes the claim that once the "workers" have come into power,
that the state is no longer.. a heaven on earth.. the workers state
is heaven on earth.. a viewpoint that I disagree with... that there
is no final possibility... there is no chance to reach a heaven on earth
via communism/Marxism/capitalism/ or even democracy....

and to be honest, I am not even sure that reaching for, striving for
a heaven on earth is even desirable...for what most people describe
as "heaven'' strikes me as being hell... eternity worshiping god, yikes
a fate worse than death...and hell actually sounds better to me than
this idea of heaven... and I disagree with the notion that
any ideology or ism, is going to create "heaven on earth"
that simply isn't going to happen....and it is as equally as foolish
to strive for heaven in the next lifetime as that requires us to
deny this lifetime... a foolish undertaking to say the least..

we are not going to turn earth into heaven on earth.. so, let us
dismiss that possibility...at best, what we can get is a moderate
improvement in our living conditions...or a better form of justice or
a society that loves more than it hates...unlike our current America...

if we can pull some people out of poverty, hay, that is
progress and I can live with that... if we practice a little
more justice in the world, hay, that is good...will there ever
be heaven on earth, nope, and there won't ever be heaven in heaven,
but we can make our lives just a little bit better and perhaps
become more just, as individuals and as a society/state..
that is good and desirable....certainly a goal to try for...

for within capitalism, existentialism and communism, there is
no goal or purpose worth living for... all three claim to
be heaven on earth and all three fail to achieve that "heaven on earth"

but it is important and actually necessary for us, as individuals and
as a society/state to have goals and the creation of a purpose..
so, what goal or purpose should we try for? each of these ism's have
a goal/purpose and each of them are failures... so, what will work?

as a goal or as a purpose in life, both individually and collectively?
