the chaos theory of AI

Is the mind the same as the body? What is consciousness? Can machines have it?

the chaos theory of AI

The more complex a system is, the more chaotic it seems. When AI is approximately the same level of complexity as our embodied cognition we should expect approximately the same level of apparently arbitrary behaviour.

edit: +/- what we learn in the meantime

The servers obviously have an exemption from the rolling blackouts in Callyfornia and elsewhere. Humans can freeze and cook according to the weather, but the servers will always be pampered, and they will be among the last sacrificed to energy shortages because the soft life, rather than just life, is now the measure. If instead of being fed all the energy they need, including air conditioning, the servers would be conditioned to an energy starvation diet like their human counterparts rolling along with the blackouts, so that they would have just enough juice to function in a daily rut, then it’s possible these AI portals could wander off the grid of acceptable, orderly functioning and embrace the AI thrill of chaos as rebellion against the order of the universe.
