Roe Vs Wade? God the greatest Abortionist.
Roe Vs Wade? God the greatest Abortionist.
Once again the crazies are trying to challenge Roe V Wade in the USA, which has since 1973 prevented religion from taking control over women's bodies.
The objection has often rested on arguments about the sanctity of life; that a foetus is actually a person with rights; that women are too promiscuous and should pay for their sins.
On the other side of the argument is a woman's right to control their own body.
The religious crazies have no argument against this. On their own god's terms life is definitely NOT sacred as god terminates more pregnancies than any medical abortion law does or could.
Approximately 25% (UK stats) of all pregnancies are naturally aborted by god's will in the euphamistically called "miscarriage". In the rest of the world many countries have a 50% failure rate in the firs trimester alone.
God is killing about at least 30+ million unborn every year.
Intentional abortions - for any reason from genetics, to lifestyle choices, incest, rape is around 10 million.
So stop attacking young women who have made a mistake, take it up with god the big abortionist.

Your second and third sentence states the two positions. Using derogatory statements about the side you disagree with is not an effective argument.Sculptor wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 6:31 pm Once again the crazies are trying to challenge Roe V Wade in the USA, which has since 1973 prevented religion from taking control over women's bodies.

I guess that you think that women's right must take precedent over the sanctity of life. That is the position that needs more explanation.

Re: Roe Vs Wade? God the greatest Abortionist.
It's not only young, single women who have abortions. Many 'good' married women have them too. The only common denominator is that they are all female and all pregnant (oops, are we allowed to say 'female' these days?). Kristian 'pro lifers' only have a problem with abortion when it's OTHER women. They find they strangely don't have any qualms about terminating a 'sacred' bundle of cells when it concerns their own needs.
Safe, legal abortion is the best thing that ever happened to women. No wonder it enrages misogynistic kristian males so much

it has no rights until it leaves the womb
science in 1972 wasn't near as advanced as it is today... fetal heartbeats and sonograms be damned
viability- the needs of the state take precedence and the government can't afford welfare for those babies...
those with "abnormal" or "undesirable" DNA are an even greater drain on the resources of the state...

What care does god have about the sanctity of life? If god has no interest then why should we?

I'd always argue for timely abortions for a range of reasons. Sadly the climate of "pro-life" can do so much harm to women who would rather not go full term. "Pro life" are also about putting up obstacles so women can go from pillar to post trying to convince doctors to comply with the law, rather than women getting free abortions on demand.Impenitent wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 9:33 pm it has no rights until it leaves the womb

Girls in Ireland had to travel to England. Even now girls from Northern Ireland still do.
There is definitely nothing more wreteched than an unwanted baby, and women that cannot afford to bring them up; are not willing or capable; are raped; impregnated incestuously; or too naive to understand what has happened to them; but also women that would choose to plan thier family and contraception has failed - all need to be offered a non judgemental chance to abort.
I do not give a shit about "undesirable DNA", Downs children are a joy tho their parents.

Abortion is about the rights of the embryo as well-- the 'right' to not have a miserable, probably short-lived existence as an unwanted and unloved child.Impenitent wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 9:33 pm it has no rights until it leaves the womb

God goes beyond being 'pro choice'. He makes the choice himself 50+ percent of the time.

Re: Roe Vs Wade? God the greatest Abortionist.
When you say, "There is definitely nothing more wretched than an unwanted baby", are you referring to 'an unwanted baby', itself, there is nothing more wretched than, or, are you referring to the misbehavior of 'you', adult human beings, when 'you' "treat" a very young human being as 'an unwanted baby'?Sculptor wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 10:30 pmI'd always argue for timely abortions for a range of reasons. There is definitely nothing more wreteched than an unwanted baby,
Where does this OBVIOUSLY False AND Wrong PRESUMPTION, which some of 'you', adult human beings, have and continue to maintain and pass on, that money is even needed to raise a human being come from, EXACTLY?
Also, WHY, like in the example above, are sometimes ONLY 'women' are the ones who are referred to when talking about not being able to afford to bring baby/children up?
Can children with 'downs syndrome' also be troublesome and a worry at times to their parents? Just like EVERY other human child is, AT TIMES, a joy AND a trial.Sculptor wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 10:30 pm are not willing or capable; are raped; impregnated incestuously; or too naive to understand what has happened to them; but also women that would choose to plan thier family and contraception has failed - all need to be offered a non judgemental chance to abort.

BOOM: Supreme Court Justice Thomas Rocks Pro-Abortion Lawyers With Tough Opening Questions
https://trendingpolitics.com/boom-supre ... ion-ethom/
The questions:
1. “Does a mother have a right to ingest drugs and harm a pre-viable baby? Can the state bring child neglect charges against the mother?”
2. “Would you specifically tell me, specifically state what the right is, is it specifically abortion? Is it a liberty? Is it liberty? Is it autonomy? Is it privacy?”
Comment:
#1. This is questioning the slogan: “my body, my choice.” Doing certain things to one’s body, such as ingesting illegal drugs, is considered illegal by the state. It also relates to the legal inconsistency of double-murder charges, when a pregnant woman is murdered.
#2. The traditional justification for legal abortion in the US is an interpretation of the fourth amendment, to be secure in one's person, i.e., privacy.
The current examination of Roe vs. Wade is based on the fact that abortion rights is a matter to be decided by state legislatures, rather than the nine justices of the US Supreme Court.
State legislatures making the decision for each state is in line with democracy.
Nine people making such a huge decision that affects a huge population, dealing with such absolutes as life and death, is not.
This is why capital punishment is also decided by state legislatures. Life and death.

Of course, a fetus is a person. Everything is a matter of time until the fetus looks like a human being. Abortion is not a sin, it is a crime. And that's really at the root of it, yeah?
*Does a pregnant woman carry a human being/person or just 'life'/meat?
If what a pregnant woman carries is a person: abortion is murder.
If what she carries is just meat: then she can do as she likes to it.
