QED. Evil as a force of nature with its own volition.
This is what I was talking about.

Depends.
The Old Testament validates all those human crimes you mention. And since JC validates the scriptures the evil in there.

This first link and the author's well researched writing ,as well as other writings, is how I formed my opinion.

I hope you can see how intelligent the ancients were as compared to the mental trash that modern preachers and theists are using with the literal reading of myths.

Further.
http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/03132009/watch.html

Rabbi Hillel, the older contemporary of Jesus, said that when asked to sum up the whole of Jewish teaching, while he stood on one leg, said, "The Golden Rule. That which is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor. That is the Torah. And everything else is only commentary. Now, go and study it."

Please listen as to what is said about the literal reading of myths.

"Origen, the great second or third century Greek commentator on the Bible said that it is absolutely impossible to take these texts literally. You simply cannot do so. And he said, "God has put these sort of conundrums and paradoxes in so that we are forced to seek a deeper meaning."

Matt 7;12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
This is how early Gnostic Christians view the transition from reading myths properly to destructive literal reading and idol worship.

If evil has volition, then so does good, yet you do not see them fighting.

You might want to get out of supernaturalstupid thinking mode because if you give adjectives like good and evil volition, you might as well give it to all adjective like hot and cold.

I would rather be poked in the eye with a sharp stick that disable my ad-blocker to read shite from a religious apolgist.
Anyone who rubs shoulders with Karen Armstrong is not worthy of my time.

Did you mean to say CONTEMPORARY of Jesus??
Where did you get this quote?

Please listen as to what is said about the literal reading of myths.

"Origen, the great second or third century Greek commentator on the Bible said that it is absolutely impossible to take these texts literally. You simply cannot do so. And he said, "God has put these sort of conundrums and paradoxes in so that we are forced to seek a deeper meaning."
That is not a majority opinion. And is worthless, nonetheless since "GOD" whoever the fuck that is did not pen these books, be they conundrums or not.
This is just more childish apologism if the kind Karen Armstrong spews.
Can I ask you what kind of God withholds information from the scriptures with myths and conundrums? Is God setting a rather high bar for redemption? Maybe he only wants logicians and puzzlers to get into heaven??
Matt 7;12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
Really??? What about all those tribes that the Israelites put to the sword?

This is how early Gnostic Christians view the transition from reading myths properly to destructive literal reading and idol worship.
An empty claim. Based on nothing.
Who is Rabbi Hillel?

And, to your point, a "loser" is not the same as a "victim."

There are plenty of people who "lose" things, who are very far from being victims.

When competing in a triathlon, all but one person will win. Is DL going to suggest that this makes all the wealthy and eager participants, who for the sake of winning fine-tuned their bodies to a peak fitness, a bunch of "victims"?

No.
I am saying competition creates. Evil is just the result perceived by the loser.
Actions, like competition, can create, while adjectives like evil can only remain descriptive.

As compared to those who fine tuned their bodies better, yes, the losers show that they have not shown themselves to be the fittest. That is why they are called the losers of the sport or event.

So...for you, to "lose" is to become a "victim"? :?

Okay, let me give you a test case.

Two women work in a corporation. One works overtime. She upgrades her skills continually. She works the system. She forgoes marriage and domesticity. She looks for opportunities to make money and promote the organization.

Another gets the same job, but then only puts in the 9-5. She doesn't upgrade. She gets married and has several children. She takes every vacation day and leave she can. She never looks for opportunities to advance the corporation, and she makes only as much money as her job requires.

The opening for CEO comes up.

Both apply for it.

The first woman gets it. The other one loses it.

Is she a victim?

In terms of the fittest requirements for the job, yes. She is inferior to the winner of that competition.

When you lose at a competition, do you feel good about it, or do you think evil has befallen you?
