The hardest war of all is fighting against a faceless nemesis.
The process of personifying and projecting one's self-loathing onto others is incredible to watch and pity at the same time.
The hardest war of all is fighting against a faceless nemesis.
Indeed! I was thinking the same thing...and you said it perfectly. I admit, there's always a hope (for me) of saying something that might spark some recognition for another person of their OWN broader awareness -- because I really do think all of us can broaden the "channels" we transmit and receive on -- and that changes everything. But perhaps when a person's identity is wrapped up in specific ideas, and they're getting some sort of ego payoff (or emotional comfort), they will defend that illusion of identity with blind ferocity.
Here's some ironclad reasoning.Greta wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 5:06 amThere's the shame. He was once capable of discussion and was occasionally responsive to reason. Now he has become an extremist, seeing the battle against the irredeemably evil "Left" as a kind of desperate holy war that must be won at all costs or disaster will follow.
I would be concerned to hear a Muslim speak of westerners the way Walker speaks of "Leftists". With the rapid rise of right wing extremist terrorism, what I am hearing from Walker is a concern. Increasingly there will be "direct action" groups ready to exploit vulnerable people like Walker who are too consumed with hatred to think clearly and thus be capable of protecting themselves from manipulations by violent hate groups.
It's a very simple point that you are dishonestly twisting.Lacewing wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 3:44 pmIndeed! I was thinking the same thing...and you said it perfectly. Do try and rise above personal attacks, and respond with logic and reason.
So the idea is to rise above personal attacks and respond with logic and reason by calling Logik a moron for making an astute observation? I hope you are not hoping to be taken seriously.
It is why I love being a mirror to hypocrites (a.k.a humans).Lacewing wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 3:44 pmIndeed! I was thinking the same thing...and you said it perfectly. Because you think the electoral college is a "wall" (an instrument for social control) and it has a clear and concise "purpose", it suggests to me that you think of society as top-down, universally abstract engineering project.
