"Oy vey, that voice" is a satirical reference to Dylan's vocal virtuosity, a comment many will agree with, although he does grow on you.Frank N Stein wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 3:52 pmWhat is it with Christians and sex? It is not in reference to the angelic tones of the featured artist.
As for the rest of your comments, you sound like a little boy, with the Christians, the sex, the boobs, and God knows what else is in your noggin.
Advice: grow up.

Yes, I knew that. A 'cover' doesn't just mean you didn't write the song. There are many examples of people singing other people's songs that couldn't be classed as 'covers'. A 'cover' implies something inferior, a copy of something that was a hit.Walker wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 3:54 pmOften? Then you should have already known that Hendrix covered The Watchtower. She's (trying to) cover Hendrix's version, idiot. Or do you think she's emulating Bob Dylan?Walker wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 4:00 pmYeah, sure you knew it.Frank N Stein wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 3:58 pmYes, I knew that. Here's a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice singing her own song (and not a jiggling boobie in sight).Walker wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 4:06 pmI think you are, which means the well-intentioned advice* is moot.Frank N Stein wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 4:02 pm She's (trying to) cover Hendrix's version, idiot. Dylan has been called the male Joni Mitchell, but certainly that's only for the poetry and not the sound.
This came after Hendrix. Is it a cover? Oy.

That's not Boby Dylan's original. It's very difficult to find any Bob Dylan on Youtube. He's very protective of his copyright.Walker wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 4:46 pmThat is beautiful. It would seem that 'cover' is beyond the comprehension of the average American so they should just leave the word alone. It's a stupid word when applied to music anyway. When is a 'cover' a 'cover of a cover of a cover...'?

I wonder how he managed to sneak his pet project onto this thread. He had her all over the music page for a while. Perhaps he's her agent. I think that would count as spam in that case, which I thought wasn't allowed on here.Frank N Stein wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 8:11 pmThat's not Boby Dylan's original. Obviously only a select taste for irony, when convenient (self-serving).
Re: The older I get, the smarter I feel, and the stupider I become
You don't say. I suppose that's why it came after the Hendrix, "original."

Fool. I agree with Frank. 'Cover' is too difficult for fools to grasp so why use it? Probably something the yanks first thought up. Do people really need to have a word for 'singing a song written by someone else'? Or, 'singing a song that someone else released commercially (but not necessarily a song written by someone else if you are the first to release it (or even the second, or all of Elvis' songs would be 'covers', and not if a song is assosiated with one perso, even if that person didn't write the song etc. etc. etc. etc.....)

It's all about the numbers.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 1:08 amFool. I agree with Frank. 'Cover' is too difficult for fools to grasp so why use it? All about the math.
About the bridge connecting clarity with your confusion.
Check your dates.
From the link of it:
"Los Angeles 23.05.1984. Los Angeles, CA - Tour Rehearsals"
That number 1984 is the time coordinate.
Like the Orwell novel.
The Hendrix "original" was years before 1984.
That means the original precedes the cover.
Okay so far.
However, seeing as how Dylan wrote the song the question remains ...
Is the 1984 version by Dylan, a cover?
