Re: Nobody
What is someone? What is no-one?
(Pindar, Pythian Ode number 8, line 95)
For the benefit of pedants, the words are "ti de tis; ti d' ou tis;". The above is one possible translation, but another is "What is a man, what is he not?". The answer given is the famous "skias onar", a dream of a shadow.

My apologies Alyosha. Limited education.
What's casting the shadow? And who's dreaming? Or have I missed the point again

Re: Nobody
"Nothing is an awe-inspiring yet essentially undigested concept, highly esteemed by writers of a mystical or existentialist tendency, but by most others regarded with axiety, nausea, or panic. Nobody seems to know how to deal with it (he would, of course), and plain persons generally are reported to have little difficulty in saying, seeing, hearing, and doing nothing. Philosophers, however, have never felt easy on the matter."
This is from P L Heath's article in Paul Edwards (ed), The Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 1967. You can find the whole article here:

although there may be some differences from the printed text - I found one in the first sentence.
