The whole American 'Beauty' pageant thing is beyond weird anyway. It's not even about beauty--otherwise how would a plain dumpling like Honey BooHoo win lots of them? There's apparently a formula you have to stick to  Have a look at them and they could all be the same person with different wigs and occasional skin tone variation.
I don't know ANYone who watches those. Not male, not female. I learn about it in the papers next day, somewhere, by glancing at the headlines on the newsstands. "Drat! I missed it again," I would sigh, and get on polishing shoes next door to the newsstand.

All know that the last time it was still a beauty contest, the winner was called Kayla, and the two runner-ups, Chicago and Bloom.

Ten years ago they were Krystal, Aimee, and Brittney.

Thirty years ago they were Anne, Marjorie and Susan.

Sixty years ago they were Daisy-Mae, Peggy-Sue, and Barbara-Ann.

Next year they will be Dr. Livingstone, Dr. Prof. President Blech and Dr. Myopia, MD, FRCP(C).

Looking back over past winners I would say they are anything 'but' natural beauties. It's hard to tell what they look like for the most part. I suppose it must be a yank thing. Y'all love your big hair/mouths/teeth. I didn't see any Audrey Heburns, Elizabeth Taylors, or Ava Gardners in there, just a lot of unmemorable clones. Still, if it titillates the Nick-As of the world it has to be a good thing.....

How times have changed. In ancient Greece it was the male body that was celebrated. Those days are over. now the only thing celebrated about the male body is the size of the wallet it carries.

Those days are over and up until recently it was the female body that was celebrated as something beautiful. But we've done our best to pervert beauty into sexual arousal so now the only thing worth celebrating about a woman is her ability to complain in a uniquely feminist fashion. All else are just imitations of male characteristics. Whoever is the best complainer and spout the best platitudes in support of progressive values will be the winner.

Bikini reveals more form and that might further confuse pronouns in Canada.

I think if there is a forum that objectifies people then it is 'Miss' and 'Mr' whatever and they should get their gear off for it...and make me jealous.

I really don't care too much what is happening between their ears, but it does improve their credentials ..just a tad in my opinion.

btw..did i mention my cousin was Miss UK in 1984 and miss world a year or two later, not sure why i'm mentioning it..oh yeah, did i mention my cousin was Miss UK in 1984 and miss world a year or two later?

https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Culture/miss ... d=55638426
Miss America is scrapping its swimsuit competition and will no longer judge contestants based on physical appearance, the organization announced Tuesday.

"We are no longer a pageant," Gretchen Carlson, the first former Miss America to be named chair of the Board of Trustees of the Miss America Organization, said on "GMA." "We are a competition."

In place of the swimsuit portion of the competition, Miss America contestants will now take part in a live interactive session with the judges, according to the organization.

The contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia will be asked to demonstrate their passion, intelligence and overall understanding of the job of Miss America.

The organization is also getting rid of the evening gown portion of the competition and instead asking contestants to wear attire that makes them feel confident and expresses their personal style. The contestants will also discuss how they will advance their chosen causes, called "social impact initiatives" by the Miss America Organization.
Because a swimsuit competition is the epitome of intelligence? Lmao

How do you feel about the "Jersey Shore"?
Can you imagine a bunch of guys having a beer and watching women dressed in yoga pants competing over who can be the most PC feminist? I feel sad for the station that has the TV contract for the event. Who the hell would want to watch this PC silliness?
It's a silly event to begin with, and anyone who watches It religiously will have their brain turn to mush anyway, much as no guy capable of dating a reasonably attractive woman, even if just for one night, would have much of a reason to watch it anyway (especially when "free porn" on demand is one google search way), not that I'm bored enough to care.

Much as I'm no longer bored enough to care over uses and abuses of the term "feminist", when most of them are more akin to ubiquitous cultural or sociological issues rooted in human nature which have little to do with anything called "feminism" to begin with.

If there really are people who religiously read the National inquirer, or watch stuff as bad as "TJ Kirk" on YouTube other than as an occasional "PT Barnum" like attraction, then yes, sadly I bet there really are people who religiously watch these pagents… who are older than 12 years of age and just discovering how to masturbate... lol

(Same with overrated TV crap like South Park; it's just a show for easily offended pansies who get "offended" over people getting offended and think that's ever actually been "edgy" since 2003).
