Do you reckon consciousness all consciousness that is could be supernatural to the event and not there for evolving as in evolution of species.
Not certain I quite understand what is being asked, but I do agree with Peter Wessel Zapffe that self-consciousness, or self-awareness, in humankind, is supernatural, in the sense that it separates us from the natural. Have you read Zapffe?

Very welcome. Peter Wessel Zapffe is still mostly in Norwegian, but there is a translation of his essay, "The Last Messiah", floating about. Not a long read, but intense. He is by no means your typical philosopher. Class him in the heavy pessimism branch.

It takes a system of components to instantiate the convergence of sentient showings and their cognitions (mind); ergo evolution or incremental development of some kind. If one took historical license with "mind" or the more ancient "soul" to be humankind's first attempt to recognize an order-inducing form that could govern and manipulate content, then such an instructive power might be deemed as either underlying or being the universe itself. However, the actual category would have to be a step-up in generality to distinguish itself from such more specific subsets like mind/soul which traditionally seem to feature additional personhood characteristics. It's in the course of it being desirable to not repeat as an explanation for a cosmos the same nature of a cosmos again (virtual realities within virtual realities, endlessly), that one might want to cease the nested Russian doll syndrome with a radically different agency / lawful potency that is immaterial or non-spatiotemporal.

An amoeba is aware of it's food, else it would be unable to use it's pseudopodia to envelope it. Science can show it response to the detection of chemical flags.
Surely this is fundamentally the same as a macro-organism such as a frog seeing a fly and snatching it out of the air, but on a much more complicated scale.
SO what is your problem here?
Well if consciousness is out side evolution as a supernatural element. Then as death it must be resbonsible for form changes in life forms.
