Most important question of all time?

Why would a (hypothetical) God choose to exist, rather than not-exist?

It is simple to see why a human does so, it obeys natural instincts.

So the answer, would be that God is Nature, that Nature follows nature.

But if God is only Nature, then God is not more than Nature, God is not god.

So I ask again.

I think, by and large, the most important question for a person to ask themselves is,"What do I want?" and to others, "What do you want?"

As if the human race needs more?

Reproduction has never required marriage, and by and large for the majority of human history marriage has never required asking.
Historically and still far more commonly than any Westerner would like to imagine, most marriages are arranged.

Mine was an accident...but then again hubby and I aren't all that romantic. I use romance to annoy him...it's Sooo fun. Lol

The most important question is "How can I, a guilty sinner, become right before a holy God, and so gain heaven and avoid hell."

Our restored and proper relationship with God must be our most important task in this life. A right relationship with God is a prerequisite for right relationships with others in this life, and for eternal life after our earthly death. Since God is a holy and righteous God, and we fall short of his righteous standards, our transgressions must be punished.

There is nothing we can do to become right before God. So God has taken upon himself the punishment for our sins and iniquities. Sin is punished, so the holiness of God is satisfied. Now that the punishment for our sins is complete, and a holy God's righteous anger is satisfied, God can now show us his grace. All that is left for us is to choose--do I accept God's gift of forgiveness and his rule in my life, or do I reject it?

Marriage is not necessary for reproduction. But it is an important social contract that protects children. Two people, a mother and a father, agree to work together to properly train and care for children. Without marriage, the father can more easily walk away and leave the responsibility for the child with the mother. Marriage is a public commitment to maintain that responsibility throughout life.
