sounds like I have homework to do
re locating Colchester PN folks and those of a Philosophical bent be they academics or lay philosophers.
The local university is of course the University of Essex, in Wivenhoe Park just outside Colchester. I used to use their library occasionally as a quiet place to edit articles, and their bookshop stocks Philosophy Now. They have a good philosophy department, with rather a 'Continental' emphasis. If you set up a discussion group then I'm sure the philosophy department administrator, Barbara Crawshaw, would be happy to stick up some posters and you'd therefore probably get some students along. One of PN's fairly frequent contributors, Roger Caldwell, lives near Colchester too, and is a very sociable, pleasant guy - he might be interested.
