I agree. I took the statement "All words are lies" to mean exactly that. Words in isolation have no truth or falsity value, they cannot be lies. It is only when we put words into propositions we can derive a truth value based on the structure of the proposition. For example, propositional calculus. I don't think RvE defense stands up.Arising_uk wrote: Don't think so, every post he's made about the subject is clear that he thinks words cannot be other than lies, that they are always misuse, always flawed, never perfect.

Holy shit! You are scaring me.
You actually understand me and yet you did not attack me?
Did I fall into some strange alternate universe where you appear to be civil?
I got pretty fucked-up this weekend - I must still be high...or you are?

Yes. Yes you are ALWAYS civil...and I apologize for my mistake.
For some reason I was responding to the member prior to your post. My prior post was not in response to you but to them.
So, again, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

It is clear Bill has a mistrust of people and rather than "give" too much, he uses pictures to express his thoughts as often as he can, but that is only one reason for this continuing function. Another use is his cunning sophistry and of course, let us not forget, for his own amusement of others.Don't think so, every post he's made about the subject is clear that he thinks words cannot be other than lies, that they are always misuse, always flawed, never perfect.

Whoa! Whoa!! Whoa !!! WHOA!
I TOTALLY trust people.
I trust we will fuck each other over FIRST chance we get.
I GIVE WAAAAAY TOO MUCH here upon the boards.
Nakedly I put forth MY thoughts and MY feelings.
I seem to rub EVERYONE the wrong way and yet I stand here virtually unprotected.
If anyone chooses to they could see exactly where I live - hell, from previous posts you could extrapolate what I had for breakfast.
Dare I say, no member here has pushed the envelop more than I.
- and if I didn't think so highly of you as a person I would be openly asking why you in particular has not supported me in my efforts to validate images as an integral part of life & of philosophy.
I will pay the price for everything I just said but still I stand here, defenseless. Clocked only with my love of philosophy.
No malice meant to anyone and perhaps, more importantly, you have lured me out into my hypocritical self for I admit nor am I displaying any modesty.
...that is, IF modesty is a virtue.
