I should have known that you'd take the opportunity to grandstand. Humility, is the key, and hard to achieve!

But Van Der Beek's facial expression is that of condescension/sarcasm. Is that in fact what you mean to convey?

SpheresOfBalance, thanks for giving that "profound" and "brilliant" Wiltrack all the comfort he needs to keep posting the way he does. Personally, I think you should be charged with a crime against humanity.

No, SpheresOfBalance, you shouldn't just be charged with a crime against humanity, you should be tried, convicted, and forced to spend your entire life viewing Wiltrack's posts over and over again until you finally wake up screaming and repenting of your sin that will have reached unto heaven itself.

Look Bob, you can take what I said and turn it around to fit your needs, without necessarily betraying anything I said, which proves the point I made. Which in essence says that nothing perceived is necessarily as it seems, but it may be.

OK Bill, what ever you say. Do you consciously try to alienate? If not, in my opinion, you shouldn't necessarily care about what someone thinks of you, or at least one shouldn't try and achieve such a view based upon deception. I see that one should always remain true to their honest beliefs, which is not to say that they should remain static, but rather, ever evolving. But honest always, no matter what state they're in.

Isn't that what somebody said about Obama, that he was clean and articulate?

Porn in our society is generally viewed as a healthy liberation from the older generations. While it is liberating that society has gotten past its prudishness, I think the pendulum has swung too far.

Religions, while sincere in their beliefs, brand porn as that which turns good men into sexual perverts, while the other extreme sees porn as just a healthy expression of sexuality, no matter how graphic or violent. These people will argue that as long as consenting adults are involved and no one gets hurt, then anything goes.

Illicit desire/legitimate business. Porn. It is backed up by legitimate companies and the big players make astronomical, serious money.

Porn is basically prostitution.

I am noting only, that the power and magnetism of sex are maintained when there is some sacredness to it.

Yes RE, I agree, everyone thinks for themselves, but the real question is: does any man/woman have the right to think for another? As in the enforcement of those thoughts, one takes the freedom away from the other, indicating they know whats better, for the others life, and what if, in fact, they are incorrect, then they have ruled someones life, for no apparent reason, and as that life ends, it can never recover what has been taken from it, it may even be, that, which caused the life to wane, in the first place. I for one, could not live, knowing that I was the object responsible for imprisoning ones desires, that only ever affected them and no one else. I do not believe in any dictator of one's life as they see it for themselves, as I am no omnipotent god.

I very wise man, back in the earlier days of the internet, during what was known as the "blue ribbon campaign" for freedom of speech said, that 'one doesn't truly believe in freedom of speech, until they fight tooth and nail, for their greatest enemy's freedom to speak.' I see the wisdom in this ideal, as one may never know on which side of a debate, they may find themselves. We should always guard against laws that make something, that may, or may not be, in ones mind, a crime, before any physical crime against another is ever actually committed, as the thought police can be very invasive, a slippery slope indeed.
