Pornography And Fantasy

Post by Khalid »

Well , I think most of Pornography movies are overacted and theatrical . Shelley Lubben is a motivational speaker and former porn star http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelley_Lubben .
She says that most of sexual emotions and excitement showed in pornography movies are overacted .

I think this fantasy element is the magnetizing and addictive element in pornography . It's like bringing a man from 1950 through a time machine and making him watch a hollywood HD movie with all high quality visual and sound effects , he would feel pleasure he never experienced before in 1950's black and white movies . And if he returned to 1950 he would feel coldness or sluggishness with old movies because he has seen an amazing artificial fantasy in 2013's movies nothing can compete it . That's why many people get addicted to pornography .

It's the same idea with Pornography and it's overacted fantasy . If we even have a look at the categories of pornography in every sex website , there are extreme contents and categories of pornography like levels . Once you get bored or cold with a category you turn to the next one that's more extreme .

Wikipedia identifies pornography as an addictive thing :
Addiction is the continued use of a mood altering substance or behavior despite adverse dependency consequences,[1] or a neurological impairment leading to such behaviors.[2]
Addictions can include, but are not limited to, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, exercise abuse, pornography and gambling.

Honestly I don't get your point you want to make, except for showing us all you watch porn on a regular basis.

No I want to say that pornography is usually overacted , I mean the sexual emotions and excitement in it are theatrical and that's why people might get addicted to it .

Are we going to ignore the addiction that comes from the brain dumping a bunch of dopamine and oxytocin into the brain following orgasm? Ya know, the "rat pressing the lever" and getting cocaine? We are going to leave that part out?

You are addicted to food also... is that a problem?

The view you took there was thinking of sex in pure negative terms (or pornography for that sake).

Well a recent scientific study put women in an MRI scanner and had them have an orgasm while laying inside. The scanner "watched what happened". And what do suppose happened?

--

What happened was lots of activity in the "reward center" of the brain. ( Yeah. What were you expecting to happen? The conclusions of this experiment were anti-climactic. bah-dump-hiss 8) )

That's a very simplistic look. By the way you talk you are virtually saying that it was the only thing that happened. Human sexuality serves a lot of functions, that it feels "satisfactory" is a side-effect.

I was never addicted to pornography. Sure, I went through a phase which I loved pornographic images of naked women, and if mates coerce me to watch porn I still insist on being pornos with no guys in it (who wants to see that). I guess some people like to dwell on fantasy instead on focusing on reality. Some middle aged friends of mine are still addicted to porn but I reasoned the reason this is so is because they really want to still feel like a man, and a vibrant teenager.

I get scared that by watching pornos the media is telling me how women should look like and what is beautiful and what is not. I am capable of making my own decision on that and I do not need pornos to tell me how to think. Everyone is different, and if we are realistic about our goals we can find someone compatible to our own DNA makeup and cherish beauty to levels unseen by society's westernised established standards. To me a good porno is only one that has a good story/plot behind it and is comical.

If someone is into pornographic images as an addiction I do not understand why they don't take up art and create their own fantasy partner to dream about. :-/

Sounds to me as if you have really thought a lot about this.

What do you mean by - society's westernized established standards.?

I've never seen porno.
So when you say - To me a good porno is only one that has a good story/plot behind it and is comical.

That to me, sounds like a TV sit/com is porno for you.? Is it?

You mentioned - our goals. What is our goals & how does that relate to your understanding of pornography?

When you said - Everyone is different, is that separate from our goals?

TO DEFINE PORNOGRAPHY HAS BECOME MORE DIFFICULT OVER THE YEARS, UNTIL THE ADVENT OF THE INTERNET IT WAS LIMITED TO, AND THEREFORE LARGELY DEFINED BY WHAT WAS AVAILABLE, TOPSHELF MAGAZINES, BACKSTREET BOOKSHOPS, HOME-MADE AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONALLY-PRODUCED CINE FILMS. THE INTERNET ALLOWED SUCH READY ACCESS SO CHEAPLY WITH SOMETHING SOMEWHERE TO SUIT EVERY TASTE (PROBABLY) THAT THE PRE-EXISTING BORDERLINES HAVE BECOME INCREASINGLY ILL-DEFINED.
HOWEVER, A FEW POINTS EMERGE AND PERSIST:

PORNOGRAPHY "USERS" EMPLOY PORNOGRAPHIC IMAGES SOMETIMES AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR, SOMETIMES AS AN ADJUNCT TO SEXUAL ACTIVITY WITH A PERSON OR PERSONS, SOMETIMES AS A VALID TEACHING OR LEARNING AID TO EXPLORE POSSIBILITIES AND TECHNIQUES; SOME COUPLES SHARE THE EXPERIENCE IN A VOYEURISTIC WAY, EITHER HAVING SEX TOGETHER OR EVEN NOT HAVING SEX TOGETHER WHILE VIEWING SEXUAL IMAGERY.

WOODY ALLEN WAS ONCE ASKED IF SEX WAS DIRTY, HE REPLIED: "ONLY IF YOU'RE DOING IT RIGHT". THE DIRTY AND FORBIDDEN AND CENSORED AND TABOO WILL ALWAYS HAVE AN ATTRACTION, THE FRISSON OF COVERT SEXUAL ACTIVITY OR THE VOLUNTARY OVERCOMING OF PHYSICAL DISGUST MUST BE PRESENT IN WHAT IS CURRENTLY CALLED "DOGGING" IS A FAIR EXAMPLE.

CURIOUS FEATURES EMERGE, WHY IS THERE SOFT-CORE PORN? NON-LOVERS OF HARD CORE PORN DON'T LIKE IT, AND ACTUAL LOVERS OF HARD CORE PORN DON'T EITHER.

FANTASY IS A VERY IMPORTANT AND I BELIEVE A VERY USEFUL AND FULFILLING ENTITY, WITHOUT IT THERE CAN BE DANGEROUS REPRESSION WHICH FORCES URGES TO SPILL OVER IN PERILOUS AND DAMAGING WAYS, FOR SOME FANTASY ITSELF CAN BE ENOUGH AND ALL THEY EVER NEED SEXUALLY, FOR SOME IT CAN BE SELF-DIDACTIC AND A PERSONAL ARTFORM.

...A SAD KIND OF LOVE THAT ONLY DRIFTS IN DREAMS,
A KIND OF LOVE MORE SADDER STILL THAT NEVER DRIFTS IN DREAMS.

NOW ONE IS INTO THE DANGEROUS AREA OF ASSOCIATING LOVE AND SEX AND THE DIVIDING LINES AND OVERLAPS OF THE TWO.

I KNOW EVERYTHING I HAVE SAID HERE IS WRONG, AND I INVITE COMMENTS FROM ANYONE WHO FEELS HIM/HER SELF TO BE ANY LESS WRONG.
