Without humans 'Truth' does not matter. Either there is nothing after we die...(so why care about nothingness If you aren't aware...after all...did you care about the nothing you were before you were born?) Or there is some type of awareness after we die...in which case we will have all the time in the world to find the truth.

Though you have not yet stated this, it is true that people do not live their lives with the thought of death everyday, and when most consider it they tend to resort to some fantasy about eternal life.
Until you have experienced the prospect of death in the face you never really know what that is about.
You are somewhere in between; I doubt you have faced the prospect of death in any immediate stark and unavoidable way, but you do not accept intellectually that you have any prospect of an afterlife, and this is what all this angst is about. You are definitely disappointed that you will die one day, but have not come to terms with that fact.
