The reason why women wear make-up and men don't

Post by kep »

I think women wear make-up because they are valued if they show they accept their gender role, because that role is against their nature. Men don't need to show that accept their gender role because it isn't against their nature.

My wife doesn't wear makeup. Early on I told her I wanted to see her face, I like it, not a layer of paint.

It's possible that women who wear a lot of makeup are not very confident in their appearance.

You accept the truth as it is.

Like the pop-singer who sings:

you are tired, I love it, I love it ....

I suppose that this man does not expect his love to pretend to be high spirited all the time. He accepts her being weary, because life is tough. But I am not quite sure, often enough I misunderstands pop songs completely.

Sometimes I rub her feet, because it makes her feel good.

Nope none of the above girls have very red lips and as they grow older they tend to fade, so it is suggested that lipstick is used to show their relative fecundity, whilst of course no offspirng is going to come from a child: some progeny may be expected from either a teen or an adult. Eye liner and mascara and false eyelashes also mimiic the child in the same fashion, and hence the more mature woman by contingency. Rouge shows a complexion that is nearing fecundity, and a maidens maidenhood well you can work that out for yourself. If you catch my drift.

The reason men don't wear make up is because there is competition between women to find a good mate, but watch this and it will explain it all:

Indeed the voice of reason steps in but if I may add one caveat, they were usually either Goths, Emos or gay or other... think on.

Although if I can for a moment quote The Bible, the above may enlighten you...

The Romans, the Elizabethans, the Egyptians, the ancient Britons, modern filmstars, etc.

I think make-up for males is about to become acceptable once again due to the surveillance society as just like the hoodie became popular due to the increase in CCTV so with the advent of drones, eye-cams, face-recognition cameras, etc, etc, people will wish to not be so easily identified and make-up or face-paint will be an easy and aesthetically pleasing solution. As Imp said, camouflage for privacy.

These did not serve the same purpose as makeup on a woman. War paint was to intimidate, camouflage was to hide, a woman's makeup is to attract a mans attention, (or in some cases another woman's), usually for sex.

Through history men has worn excessively makeup, just that our modern culture doesn't appreciate it any more.
