Should you think about your duty, or about the consequences of your actions? Or should you concentrate on becoming a good person?

The cost of interests on loan is a critical necessity of economics within democracy and meritocracy.

Usury is not a direct moral nor ethics issue but it is the problem of a lack of virtue when the charge of interests in ridiculously high.

The real problem here is that of lust and greed for money itself which is a psychological issue of the masses of people involved in charging high interests.

This is a problem that humanity collectively must address and resolve but if we are to start now with the right fool proof strategies, it will take a few generations to reach reasonable success.

Btw, usury is illegal in Islam [with some success] but it is grounded on a threat from a God who command believers to kill non-believers upon the slightest threats. Even then Muslims are trying to imitate 'usury' indirectly which has its cons beside its pros.
