Is there any reason why people like certain things and dislike others?Veritas Aequitas wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 4:34 amSuch one liner is nonsensical which reflect badly on your intellectual competence and integrity.bahman wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 6:01 pmIt is a fact.Veritas Aequitas wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 4:59 am
What??
That some one like or dislike something X is a fact if there are evidences of their expressing it, but the basis of their likes or dislikes are subjective to oneself, thus opinion or at best personal conviction.
Are you capable of more rational counters?

All humans are programmed with taste of sweetness, that is a biological fact specific to the biological/scientific framework.bahman wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 3:42 pmIs there any reason why people like certain things and dislike others?Veritas Aequitas wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 4:34 amSuch one liner is nonsensical which reflect badly on your intellectual competence and integrity.

Some people may dislike sweetness for unknown reasons and they just don't like sweetness without being able to explain their dislike.
As such this is a personal subjective matter and cannot be a credible fact as generally accepted.
Btw, in another perspective, I had defined a fact as any emergence that is conditioned upon a framework. Thus there can be divine moral facts but such facts are not credible or the lowest credibility possible. This is a different issue in the context of this OP.

Aha, all humans are programmed. Like or dislike is also a part of the program.Veritas Aequitas wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 6:01 amAll humans are programmed with taste of sweetness, that is a biological fact specific to the biological/scientific framework.bahman wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 3:42 pmIs there any reason why people like certain things and dislike others?Veritas Aequitas wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 4:34 am

So, which is moral bitterness or sweetness?
Re: Moral realism is true
Our life is not indifferent since there are likes and dislikes. The moral reactions are related to likes and dislikes. Therefore, moral opinions exist. Therefore, moral relativism is true.

Like or dislike is not a fact, they are emotional values, values are opinions.

This does not help you case.
Re: Moral realism is true
It does. Forcing people to do or accept what they don't like is wrong.

AND WHAT THEY DO AND DO NOT LIKE IS SUBJECTIVE
