Modelling.

Should you think about your duty, or about the consequences of your actions? Or should you concentrate on becoming a good person?

Modelling.

Is the consentual exploitation of the adult human body always a bad thing? For example, if a woman, or a man, chooses to use their body in some way, perhaps for life model or even something of a more sexual nature, but donate what they earn to a needy cause, are their actions justified?

I would have thought the default rule among consenting adults these days is that the thing that requires extraordinary justification* isn't what they do but what others would do to restrict such activities.

Centuries old laws about prostitutes doing hand, mouth or butt stuff for money might give the appearance that this is not true, but I would suggest that we permit and license porno actors to do more and ruder things than the average prostitute does on any given Tuesday. As such I believe our laws in that regard demonstrate inertia as much as they do any current prevailing moral wisdom.

As such I don't think that the examples you cite need the worthy cause to justify the action. Rather we need to evaluate the terms on which we interfere with those choices and think about whether we ought to still be doing so.

* candidates off the top of my head would be largely in the area of exploitation. I doubt that's a big deal in the artistic nude modelling game, but we would be niave to ignore it in the wider world of sexy-time employment.

Why would I think it's ever a bad thing?
