is/ought, final answer

Should you think about your duty, or about the consequences of your actions? Or should you concentrate on becoming a good person?

Thought we covered this too? As long as it pisses you off/contradicts/undermines your interpretation - it's always worth appealing to.
Yeah, it sure pisses me off and definitely I think that you're capable of undermining things I write. This is all very plausible. Keep it going.

Well you did ignore me a bunch of times. Now you just can't help yourself engaging.

Even though I don't contribute anything valuable. I guess you just love wasting your time?

Right, because originally I was trying to post "seriously" with you. You're a waste of time for that.

It's just that the board is so friggin' slow. I'm doing stuff on the computer where I don't want to constantly focus on it. It's kind of tedious stuff that I like to take regular breaks from.

It's frustrating to me that boards like this are so slow/that so few people post on them. I miss the good old days when IRC Undernet #philosophy was really active. For some reason chat in general really died out about 15 years ago.

The medium just changed. Everyone is on Discord/Slack now.

Same idea - different gift-wrapping.

Thanks. I don't recall hearing about that before. I'll check it out.

Haha--that didn't take long. It appears I've been banned from the philosophy channels on discord already. They have some pretty ridiculous moderation. All it took was me expressing that I'm a free speech absolutist and that in my opinion, people who are offended by a word like "transgenderism" (which someone else brought up in a discussion about it) should work on not being offendable instead. And then I mentioned that a lot of what people consider "harms" I do not, hence I do not base anything in my ethics on that overly broad term, and I said that a lot of what people consider harassment is something I have no problem with. The fact that that was enough to goad a moderator into banning me is rather frightening in terms of its social implications for freedom of expression/freedom of ideas (and the implications those sorts of draconian, intolerant attitudes can have for other social actions).

At any rate, if that's all it takes to be banned there, there was no way I would have lasted long regardless of the topic or the moderator(s) hanging around. I'd be bound to offend some control freak moderator's sensibilities daily if I chatted enough (as in more than a 10-20 minutes at a stretch).
