It seems obvious to me that since most people are so easily led around by their heart-strings, AI would very quickly distinguish the chattle from the persons with intellectual capacity. And since they're primarily rational, they will save us from the unwashed masses rather than doing away with us as human overlords tend to do. Intellectuals are, after all, the pointy end of the spear of evolution. ...so far...
