the beginning and end of ethics
the beginning and end of ethics
Given that life is usually full of suffering for most creatures, the most ethical thing we can do is work to prevent life from ever arising anywhere, and then kill ourselves.

I'm not anti-suffering, especially if we don't well (and rather narrowly) define "suffering."

It actually isn't clear that this statement is completely true.
Moments in life can be ecstatic, however it does seem we are hard wired to remember the pain more than the pleasure. Can we change our wiring?
Would you prefer 10 kids suffering in misery or 2 with a decent life? Probably the 2. Can we do something about population control? Maybe?
Great questions but I am not wiling to surrender yet, we just need more in the army.
