who are they?

not talkin' about the dead & buried but the livin' & breathin'

name them
Kaiser Basileus. But if you'd care to name your criteria, that'll go a lot further to settling the issue.

over at the cellar boardhost forum, they seemed as flummoxed as you folks are

the intelligentsia are referenced, deferred to, but no one seems to actually know who they are
Perhaps because American stupidity and dumbing down has spread and infected the whole planet and we are now living in an idiocracy?

There are still intelligent people around but they are being silenced by wokie fuckwitism.
Of course they are being silenced by dumbfucks, but dumbfucks of every ideology. They are the dumbfucks who struggled thru school, barely getting by despite the trove of participation awards for poor performances, and they resent being put down by the smart ones who get more smileys on assignments and tests.

But they are mostly Americans, because America is the nexus of dumbing down for the entire world.
Being a fuckwit in America doesn't imply you're not the 99% of intelligencia.

Just that it's not a high mark to reach in this country. Many if not most who imagine themselves to be in that category have unsupportable, impossible, or even counter-productive ideas. I can find logical flaws in most thinker's arguments, so i count them as "worthy" when they obviously understand the parts of the issue. Jordan Peterson, for example, fails existentially at the point of valuing ancient ideas as well as the value of integration with modern society, but when it comes to psychological concepts he's a bloody genius, and i wouldn't imagine going to anyone else if i wanted a deeper understanding of soviet literature.

What about Steven Pinker, Lawrence Krauss, Richard Dawkins, John Pilger? Germaine Greer, Krauss and Dawkins have been largely silenced by the wokie mob 'intelligentsia' of social media.

What? No shouts of 'commie bastards', 'socialist scum'? Are you losing your edge Henry?

Does it not occur to you that the REASON the most rational, logical, clear-thinking people on the planet are, almost without exception (or fully), 'left' of centre and liberal? And I mean in a rational, reasonable, way; NOT in an extreme wokie fuckwit way. Wokies hate free speech, therefore they are the OPPOSITE of liberal. Whenever actual 'intelligentsia' speak it's ALWAYS easy to understand and follow. This is because they are speaking from a logical, rational standpoint based on science and reason, unclouded by personal prejudices and private political agendas. That's why I would never include Noam Chomsky among them. I would also never include anyone who is religious or any other kind of superstitious. Superstition is anti-science and anti-rational, and I'm including wokism because it has far more in common with a religion than a political movement.
The reason you have never explained your own world view and how it could possibly work is because it could NOT POSSIBLY work. There is simply no rational, reasonable way 'to' explain it, so you just flit around it, using words and phrases that mean nothing without context--like 'freedom', 'self-responsibility' blah blah...
