Is cloning = reincarnation?

Post by Philosophy Explorer »

We're at the point where a human being can be cloned.
It raises issues such as a way to cheat death (if a violent criminal killed someone who can be restored to life, what should we do with the criminal?)

Your thoughts please.

Cloning would be nothing more than the “slightly delayed” birth of the cloned person’s twin – a completely new soul.

If we are able to successfully clone in the near future, wouldn't that flip our perspective around & bring humanity closer to a reality where hell is where we are? This is hell. Our reality?

Where death, real cessation, would be the release from this purgatory; this hell.

cloning has been around for millons of years.

identical twins/triplets/etc.............are all clones of each other.

and no they are each separate individuals and not reincarnations of the first born of the set.

Cloning could not be reincarnation because the cloned and the other can co-exist. Also, I don't think that the spirit of the one cloned and the clone is the same. Also, clones age very fast. Human clones - no way. Cloning is not a good idea, in fact it's a very bad idea.
