I don't know if volunteering for the military is potentially unethical, but I guarantee you that conscripting for the military is absolutely unethical (improper).

Ignoring the fact that your argument is asinine, the above is simply false. Military personnel have the right to refuse any order they deem unethical or unlawful.The assumption though is that, once you are in the army, you have to follow orders, regardless weather you agree with the ethical nature of the orders or not.
