New applied ethics breakthrough! - Tipping point reached

Post by prof »

Ethically-sensitive people want the world to work for everyone. Yet they note some obstacles....

Much concern has been expressed about Global Warming; about the true cost of extracting oil from the Earth's crust; about the dangers of polluting the water supply by fracking for Natural Gas. Fossil fuels have had their day as a source of energy for the human species. Now we want a sustainable energy source to enjoy that will not have harmful side effects such as pollution, acid rain, carbon-in-the-atmosphere build-up cause a 'greenhouse' effect.

Here is some good news in this report:
http://www.geni.org/globalenergy/librar ... 3-07.shtml

Be sure to check out that report, so that you can be stay on top of things; and so you can be inspired, keeping hope alive. Also be aware that in the Unites States the army has achieved net zero energy dependence upon fossil fuels at Fort Mead in El Paso, Texas. The U.S. Army at that base has managed to rely totally upon renewable, clean green energy. They have set a good example for the rest of the country. Let's get going here !! Let's spread the implementation of this energy change over to every state in the Union. Why should the United States be a laggard? Why should conservatives and Republicans in the U.S. Congress block every step toward progress in their drive to power? Why permit the U.S. to get left behind as the rest of the world advances?

"When will our consciences become so tender that we will prevent human misery instead of avenging it?"
-------------Eleanor Roosevelt

She is the author of the greatest document ever written:
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations. http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/
