Hi

M: Why tears ? For wasted years ?
P: You'd have to ask them.

M: I'd love to. But what I was interested in was why you saw tears. Someone else might peer and leer and see beer ?
All them oldies having a great old time, tears of laughter at the fretting humans.

P: I think that most of the 'problems' of philosophy are created by philosophers.
M: Hmmm, that's like saying most of the problems of social workers are created by social workers. There will always be questions for philosophers, and social 'issues' for SW's. Sometimes in the clarification of issues, more and more are 'discovered' or 'invented' - OK if it helps. Otherwise aggravating.

What I mean by most of the problems of philosophy are created by philosophers is that most of the conundrums simply are not conundrums. They exist only in the heads of the delusional.

All Ways

In this way we shape the world
by walking tall our souls unfurled
a wellspring pushing at the walls
that houses us stunted to make us fall.
Without an eye to where we go
we release our legs so we may grow
and get to where we're meant to be
become ourselves for us to see
and know with pride that we are
simply this: ourselves gone far
incarnate and within and of this place
winning by dint of having run the race.
Myself unbound at last by itself
in order to garner some sense of health.
No more trepidation in the face of 'them'
the rot cut out straight at the stem.
When voices call to put us down
don't simply sit and wear a frown
stand you fool and voice your mind
you'll be knocked in turn and in kind.
You must stand tall at all cost
and for sure you will be lost
unless this cost becomes a friend;
becoming is beginning but also end.
Criticisms come in constant flow
and do not end just cos you show
them for the sickness that they are,
again and again brushes tar.

You are weak you little freak
who sits there and who cannot seek
the strength within that is knowing
that the source is you and always flowing

The source is YOU

and ALL WAYS.

Not bad. Morose and self-pitying but not bad.

It is up to you how you interpret how the poem speaks to you for sure, but to say that it is 'self-pitying' seems to be an interpretation of how it speaks from me.

Maybe if this poem was accompanied by some music then we would get more of its message and of the feelings behind it.
Would the melody of "Hope of deliverance from the darkness that surrounds us" fit ?

Ah! I'm sorry. It was more a description of the initial reflective thoughts I had about what I experienced when reading the words aloud as poetry, so more a reflection upon me I guess.

Like I've said, ethics and aesthetics leave me cold, but I liked how this one sounded said.

All Ways

Can we have it another way - like whot Goethe might have podcast : Mignon

http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/arts/germ ... odcasts/26

Sometime you just gotta hear it - the little song ? - to sense it.....then again, sometimes you don't....

My first in the Poetry Bin - At A Loss

Post by Aetixintro »

Title: At a Loss

You have always looked so good in blue

The sun shining at you so sweet

You always have seemed to understand the light beams

Let me kiss you

I think you're so neat

But now you have gone away

I have lost you
